Titanium alloy is mainly used to make compressor parts for aircraft engines, followed by structural parts for rockets, missiles and high-speed aircraft. In the mid-60s, titanium and its alloys were already used in general industry to make electrodes for the electrolysis industry, condensers for power stations, heaters for petroleum refining and desalination, and environmental pollution control devices. Titanium and its alloys have become a corrosion-resistant structural material. In addition, it is also used in the production of hydrogen storage materials and shape memory alloys.
In 1956, China began to research titanium and titanium alloys, and in the mid-60s, the industrial production of titanium materials was developed into TB2 alloy.
